Bringing the World to the Isle of Wight

Come on this journey through the late 60's and discover the extraordinary story of the notorious first IOW festivals. Music recorded at the festival and film clips will help bring to life the memories of 46 years ago.

For a time, the Isle of Wight Festivals transformed the quiet English island into the rock'n'roll capital of the world. The Havenstreet event will feature a talk by festival organiser, Ray Foulk, with readings by his daughter/co-author, Caroline Foulk, of excerpts from Stealing Dylan from Woodstock. This will include references to how Havenstreet played a controversial part in the story of the Isle of Wight Festivals. Most significant is the account of how the Island got the better of Woodstock, USA, in securing the performance of the world's most important counterculture figure, to give his come-back performance.. Books will be signed by Ray and Caroline.

There is ample parking at the Steam Railway and a bar serving refreshments will be open,

All funds from this event will be used to support the Isle of Wight Literary Festival's Schools Programme, bringing a love of the written and spoken word to Island Children.
